The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering solutions like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency stated it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully sassa functional office focused on service the area daily. The service stage designed for intervention experiences a large influx of probable beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to permit the servicing of all buyers and boost entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
